Meet the Plano Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door

We’re not a franchise and we don’t rent talent by the job. The people who answer your call, drive the truck, and stand in your driveway are the same people you’ll see at the hardware store on Saturday morning. Otto Reinhardt has kept the Plano crew deliberately small since 2004 because garage doors reward experience over headcount. Each person on this page carries Otto’s name on their back, literally and otherwise. If a spring breaks at nine at night, one of these faces shows up. No mystery, no subcontractor, no call center routing you to someone three states away.

Our People

Otto Reinhardt – Owner, Lead Technician

Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 after spending years watching big companies treat garage doors like a commodity. He still takes calls personally, often at hours that would make a dispatcher uncomfortable. He quotes jobs on the phone and holds that number when he arrives, which is why people in Plano keep his card in the junk drawer instead of searching online every time. Otto is certified across LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. He counts spring cycles the way other people count tire miles, and he will tell you exactly what’s left on yours. The name on the van is the name on the invoice and the name on the license. He answers to all three.

Marcus D. – Senior Installer

Marcus has been hanging doors with Otto for eleven years now. He started in residential rough framing and moved to garage doors because it turns out he likes finishing a job in one visit and seeing the door work before he leaves. Marcus handles most of the full door installations and new construction work around Plano and Collin County. He’s the guy who can look at a sloped driveway from the street and tell you whether a track will need shims before he ever unloads the truck. Marcus has two kids in Plano ISD and a garage that is, predictably, the cleanest one on his block. If your install involves a custom color match or a tricky opening, he’s probably the one measuring it twice.

Elena R. – Service Coordinator

Elena is often the first voice you hear when you call Otto’s Garage Door. She has worked the phones here for seven years and can troubleshoot more over a call than most people can in person. When you describe a grinding noise or a door that’s suddenly off balance, Elena knows which questions to ask and whether it’s a wait-until-morning problem or a get-someone-out-tonight problem. She keeps the schedule honest, which is why we don’t give you a four-hour window and then show up at the tail end of it. Elena grew up in the Dallas area and treats every caller the way she’d want her own mother treated if a spring let go at the wrong time.

Tommy B. – Apprentice Technician

Tommy joined the crew two years ago through a referral from a veteran Otto had worked with decades ago. He rides with Otto or Marcus on nearly every job, learning the trade the slow way, which is the only way it sticks. Tommy is already certified on basic opener service and spring identification, and he handles a lot of the preventative maintenance calls under direct supervision. He’s the one who will point out a worn roller or a cable starting to fray before it becomes a midnight emergency. Tommy is also our resident brand-part lookup guy; if a part number has changed twice since 2008, he has probably already found the cross-reference. Some of our long-time customers specifically ask if Tommy is on the truck, which tells you what kind of apprentice he is.

One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works under the same rule: the price quoted on the phone is the price on the invoice. That’s not a training bullet point. It’s a habit that Otto has enforced since the first truck rolled out in 2004. The 90-Day Done Right Promise goes in writing on every job, whether Marcus is installing a full door in west Plano or Tommy is replacing rollers on a single-car opener off Custer Road. If something isn’t right within ninety days, one call brings Otto back. No runaround, no ticket number, no customer-service queue. We carry the same brands on every truck, wear the same uniform, and answer to the same person. The community comes before the margin. That’s the whole system. It has worked for over two decades, and it will work on your job tomorrow.
